Default T56 aftermarket shifter

Please pardon my newbieness but I'd like to run an aftermarket shifter on my T56 Im putting in my truck. The trans is a M12 out of a GTO but I swapped the shifter cup to run a f-body style shifter. I bought a stock shifter locally for like 10 bucks and it will work for now but Id like your thoughts one what you guys run. More than likely it would have to be lengthened so if there are any shifters that can be unbolted like the stocker, that would be great.

Thanks in advance

i got a hurst billet in my TA. Supposedly one of the best shifters for the fbody, but i cant judge to well as this is the only shifter I have used. MGW and Pro 5.0 are other popular shifters, however, MGW doesnt have the removable stick.

Pro 5.0. The stick is pretty long from the factory but probably not long enough

This is what the goal is. I'll definatly have to lengthen it and bend it to work in all gears inside the console.

That's pretty pimp, good luck!! I run a pro 5.0 and like it a lot. Many people are raving about mgw but I don't know if that will work in your application

I've read that a lot of people run the pro 5.0 too. Just looking for every option out there and some feedback from owners.

I like it, I feel that it is firm and precise. Some people complain that it is notchy but I had a stock shifter (not a hurst just whatever junk came with an f-body stock that wasn't hurst) and I saw a HUGE improvement with the Pro 5.0, best advice I can give you is find friends with different shifters and try them that is the only way you will know what you will like!
